One of Those Saturdays

It was one of those Saturdays, the kind that seem to escape reality. It was as though time wasn't happening, unless you were foolish enough to look at the clock. The atmosphere made everything seem lazy. There was no hurry. Yes, it was one of those Saturdays.

That unreal sense followed Emma as she made her way to the high school for her prep class. The sun was warm and the breeze carried that scent of surrealism. As she neared the high school, Emma could hear the wild cheering of sports fans. A mild smile spread across her face as she recalled going to watch the C Team football games on Saturday afternoons. She looked towards the football field to catch a glimpse of the game, and froze. The field, the stands, they were empty. There was nobody in sight. She looked away to reorganize her thoughts and heard the cheers of the crowd again, clear and distinct. She slowly looked back towards the field, the noise undying this time. Nobody.
